Glen Beck

Smokebender:
But ignorance, no matter how embarrassing, doesn't get in Beck's way. To wild applause, he labeled this alleged tumor of "community" the supposedly evil "progressivism" -- and he told disciples to "eradicate it" from the nation.

Smokebender:
Glenn Beck, who warns that we're on the cusp of a socialist/fascist takeover on a daily basis, had to reach to do justice to the drama of the occasion. He didn't disappoint, wielding his vast historical knowledge to (unfavorably) compare the vote to the Gettysburg Address, Iwo Jima and the moon landing, Civil Rights and the heroism of the 9/11 first responders, before landing on a more appropriate set of analogies: the attack on Pearl Harbor; the St. Valentines massacre ("when the mob stepped in and cleaned things up!"); Chamberlain's meeting with Hitler; AND THE HINDENBURG!!!! "You see, being historic isn’t always a good thing," he somberly concluded.

Smokebender:
Glenn Beck of Fox News has called President Obama a "racist" and asserted that he "has exposed himself as a guy, over and over and over again, who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture."

misfitguy:

One of the things about Glen Beck is he'll just about say anything.  Take for instance his use of the term 'socialist/fascist'.  It is an oxymoron.  They mean the direct opposites.  A socialist would be considered on the left wing of the spectrum and a fascist would be on the right wing of the spectrum.  A socialist would support workers rights and a fascist would support business and be anti-union.  A socialist would support a graduating income tax with higher rates for higher incomes and a fascist would support a flat rate or a graduating scale that looks almost flat like the one reagan introduced and a lot of deductions for the these higher incomes.

Why isn't anybody calling him on this?

Mick

Smokebender:
Well my friend, you just called him on it. Glen Beck is insane. To much time in the bottom of a bottle. Sad in a way.
