Swine flu outbreak

Another alien flu threat is sweeping across North America. This could be bigger than the " Sars" outbreak earlier this decade. I think the US, Canada and Mexico should close their borders to all incoming and out going. Quarantine the countries before it becomes an out of control global pandemic. What are your thoughts?

Even if they should they will not. They say it's to late, but I'm not sure what that means. The almighty dollar always wins in the end.

It is already global.  I don't think closing a border anymore would really be effective with much of anything.  Most of the borders of the world are pretty porous and closing the borders also means to stop all flights incoming and outgoing.  We are so global that whatever happens in another continent can easily spread through out the world in a matter of hours.  Isolationist responses to world problems is no more than a historical note.  We should never consider it as an option in the future.
