Title: Laminated Card Offer is Still Free
Post by: Sassafras on April 09, 2012, 12:56:12 AM
I would like everyone know that the Laminated Card with ingredients to avoid is still free.

FREE. Free. FrEe. FreE. fREE. fReE. FrEE. FReE. FREe. free. F.R.E.E.

There is no other way of saying it!

The only thing that has changed, is I would like people to join the Forum to show their support for SayNOtoMSG.com before requesting their free card.

Just one small contribution which is still... free!!!

Let me offer an explanation:
Requests have been coming in daily for this free card.  I really enjoy all the requests and emails and individual support and, most of all, the stories.  Awareness is what I have been looking for for years.  I have to say, though, with all the requests and show of support, I have been getting nervous about that day I have a thousand requests, and I don't even have a Facebook account yet (which someone suggested I start, thank you, I am considering it).  And, I am contributing enough where I have to start considering either to charge for this service of printing, lamination, and postage (which I really don't want to, but I may have to) or request something as small from my requesters that they join my Forum.

Please Join Today!! (http://www.misfitcityforum.com/forum/index.php?action=register)

Then email me (saynotomsg@yahoo.com) with your Shipping Address and USERNAME and I will get a Laminated Card in the mail for you.

Shanti,

We not only will wish you luck, we will give you all the support you ask for and any information we have that will help you.  We started our own journey of eliminating MSG from our diets over 10 years ago after finally figuring out what was causing Sassafras all her headaches, flu symptoms and disorientation.  It has been a long and tedious journey but very fulfilling.  Sass simply does not hardly ever have reactions because we have become educated.  We started with a printed out list of ingredients we thought was causing her difficulty and added to the list as our research continued and she continued to have reactions.

We congratulate you on your decision.  We also take phone calls and you can feel free to call us at the phone number on the card.

We'll be sending your card out to you today.

Keep up the good fight.

I'm so glad I found your site!  I'm on 3 meds to control my debilitating migraines and my husband and I have finally figured out that its MSG!  Thank you for all you do!

Welcome to the Forum and we wish you luck on your journey of eliminating excitotoxins from your diet.  You can print out a list of ingredients to avoid off of this site or at our Say No To MSG site here, http://saynotomsg.com/basics_list.php while you are waiting for you pocket card.  We'll be putting it in the mail on Monday.  We are located in Quartzsite, AZ for the winter, so you should receive it in a couple of days.

In the mean time, eliminate all diet products, ranch dressing, flavored snacks, such as nachos, toothpaste except for Arm and Hammer regular, all hair conditioners just for a starter and yes Sassafras has not found a hair conditioner that doesn't have MSG in it (by the way, she has very long hair so this was a blow to her when we figured this out).  If you eat out, do not eat anything breaded, no soups, no gravies, no seasoned fries, no salads made from lettuce that comes in a bag, and drink coffee, water, non-diet sodas and keep your drinks simple.  Avoid sweetened and complicated drinks in restaurants, such as mochas, hot chocolate, and any flavored creamers.

Some of the things I listed could be added back onto a list of ok to eat after you have investigated ingredients, but I assure you, if you eliminate the items on our list, you will eliminate your headaches.  I have been told that to change their diet so drastically  was too difficult and they would prefer to continue to take meds for their headaches.  I remind those that believe that, excitotoxins kill brain cells.  Those that show symptoms such as yourself, are being warned that you have to stop what is causing it.  Taking medicine that simply masks the pain, will not help you in the long run.

If you have any questions concerning an ingredient, please feel free to call us at the phone number on the card.

Good luck on your journey.

Keep up the good fight.

I discovered years ago that MSG gave me migraines within 90 minutes of ingestion. Since then I've had continued problems with Fibromyalgia, heart arrythmias and brain fog, even though I've avoided MSG. Imagine my surprise in discovering that MSG "derivatives" or "first cousins" made these problems flare up badly! I figured it out when I went back to college after my kids left home. At the beginning of each school year I'd have a major FMA flare-up that lasted 5 - 6 weeks. By then I'd decide it was too expensive to keep eating out or at the cafeteria and would start carrying lunch/supper from home. Soon I'd be feeling better.

Well, after the 3rd school year when this happened, I started looking into what was in that fast food & cafeteria food that might cause such problems. Sure enough, the MSG "cousins" were the culprits. It's sad not to be able to eat at my past favorite restaurants (Taco Bell, Applebees & Burger King), but I'm VERY HAPPY not to have had a major FMA flare-up or such brain fog since then! :D

We need to pass the word & get more FMA sufferers to try eliminating these toxins & see for themselves.
Thanks again,
truejeans

truejeans,

I am surely not one to tell you, you don't suffer from FMA, but many people that have been told that by their doctors and were treated as such, simply were sensitive to excitotoxins.  The medical industry pretty much doesn't recognize msg and other excitotoxin sensitivities.  They do recognize the amount of office calls you will have to make, though, to treat their diagnosed fibromyalgia.  Also, they and the drug industry, recognize the amount of drugs that will be sold to cover up the symptoms that you are suffering from.  We have found if individuals seriously read labels, question restaurants and friends that invite them over for a meal, and eliminate excitotoxins from their diet, they simply become miraculously cured from all the other ailments that have enriched the medical field and drug industry.

By the way, all hair conditioners have msg in them and most toothpastes have carrageenan in them.  As you clean up your diet, their are other places that the excitotoxins creep in.  Sass used some waterless anti-bacterial cleaner a few weeks ago and we weren't around water so she couldn't rinse off her hands.  Later she ate some finger food, sliced apples, and got a reaction.  We always investigate any reaction she gets and eventually were able to narrow it down to the waterless hand cleaner.  It is tough to have this allergy, because the food industry uses excitotoxins to increase their profits, the drug industry sells a zillion and some more of pain masking medicines and doctors make a tidy sum treating symptoms rather than solving the problem.

Keep up the good fight

Mick

Greetings,
I am so thankful to find your website on MSG!! May I please have a laminated card to keep with me? Thanks so much!

I was diagnosised with high blood pressure at age 18 and suffered extreme migrain headaces until I was 35.
I first became aware of my reactions to it in 1997, when eating a McDonald's burger meal for lunch
at work. A co-worker suggested my reactions to the food could be MSG and told me of a horror
story of a family member who ate at McDonalds for a year and was ill all the time, finally doctors trace it to food.
(The persons wife had died, he walked a block to McDonalds 2x a day to eat for the next yr.)

Since 2007, I have been hospitalized 3x's for extreme blood pressure and heart arithamy. Tests of every sort,  have always come back negative and doctors have now diagnosised the blood pressure as anxiety and refuse to admit it is MSG! I refuse to take anxiety medication as well. I no longer eat in restaurants or pot luck dinners and am trying to educate my family on the use of ingredients with MSG. As most MisFits, I could tell many stories of reactions but will spare you.

Grams,

We are glad you have started searching for answers and are happy you found our website.  Both the Forum and www.saynotomsg.com have a lot of information that will be helpful to your overcoming your affliction.  We have come to believe that the medical industry simply does not know anything about the effects of msg and other excitotoxins.  We also have come to believe most don't really care.  Treating the symptoms caused by excitotoxins is a billion dollar business for both the medical industry and the pharmaceutical industry.  It has become the duty of each individual to search out the truth and change their diet and life style accordingly,

Welcome to the Forum and please share your experiences.  This site is read by many people like yourself searching for answers.  By the way, we will edit your post to eliminate your address.

Keep up the good fight

I am really glad I found your site. I just recently realized that all of the symptoms I have been having are all related to MSG. I have started eliminating MSG from my diet. I am feeling much better.
I don't always have a lot of time to research the forums for information. I am a full time single mom, nursing student, and work weekends to support us all. So if I ask a question do you think someone might direct me to the right spot? Not being lazy just limited on spare time. And a big thank you for the laminated card! That will help so much when doing my shopping! Is there anywhere on this forum to find a list of foods we for sure know do not have MSG? I am having problems finding bread to buy that doesn't have the malt barley. Any suggestions? I love to say I have time to bake all my bread but I just don't. Thanks in advance for anyone that has a suggestion!

Nursing Student,

Sorry to be the one to tell you, there is no easy answer to finding foods that are safe.  You have to read the labels.  I could list foods that we eat and the manufacturers could change their formulation next week.  We always read every label of every thing we purchase from a can of beans to a jar of mayonnaise.  This is a war and the only way to win is to become knowledgeable of those things you need to avoid.  MSG is only one of them.  People that are sensitive to MSG are also sensitive to man made sugars, any hydrolyzed protein, any autolyzed yeast product, sodium and calcium caseinate (which is really a hydrolyzed milk protein), maltodextrin, carrageenan and most of the "gums" and extractives.

I can tell you that meats not injected with anything are safe.  Vegetables that are boiled, fried or steamed are safe.  Snack foods like potato chips (with no flavors), corn chips with no flavors, and nuts, that are not processed such as beer nuts planters nuts, are safe.  Eggs are safe and frozen waffles such as Eggos are safe if they don't have a lot of flavors added.  There are no soups in a can that are safe except for tomato soup.  All pasta is safe and most italian sauces are safe.

Bottom line, though, is that you have to read labels to be sure.  It is the only way not to eat excitotoxins.    We do normally eat pumpernickel rye bread.  It is safe.  This site has a lot of information that should be useful to you.  Our site at www.saynotomsg.com is also loaded with useful information.  You may feel free to ask us any questions concerning foods by type or brand and we will do all we can to help you with your cause.

DS,

We are happy you joined the Forum and are elated to have you participate in the goings on concerning Saying NO to MSG and Other Excitotoxins.  Welcome to the Forum!!!!  [welcome]

Years ago, Mick told me I should create a website designed to share with people the dangers of MSG and Other Excitotoxins.  Thankfully to Mick, his wonderful way with words, and my simple skills of web designing, we have that website - SayNOtoMSG.com (http://www.saynotomsg.com/index.php) - and this Forum.  (Of course, this Forum is made possible by the hard working people of Simple Machines (http://simplemachines.org/).  Only through their vision of merging "community" and "really cool mods" are we able to appreciate the gift of gab on this plane of digital interface called MisFiT City Forum.   [peace])

Personally, I don't know how the evil ones can sleep at night knowing they are poisoning the world.  They may have a lot of money, but they have NO soul.

Thank you again for joining the Forum and thank you for your support in Saying NO to MSG... and Other Excitotoxins.  I hope the Laminated Card has aided you in your quest for good health.

If there is any way we can help farther, please let us know.

Keep up the good fight!!!

Warmly,
Sassafras Zellar

So cool to find this site. Didn't know it even existed. Hello my fellow MSG haters. I have severe heart rythem problems when there is MSG in food I eat. My husband gets violent migraines. The guide will help so much when shopping.
