Quote
Former White House press secretary Scott McClellan blames President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney for efforts to mislead the public about the role of White House aides in leaking the identity of a CIA operative.

In an excerpt from his forthcoming book, McClellan recount the 2003 news conference in which he told reporters that aides Karl Rove and I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby were "not involved" in the leak involving operative Valerie Plame.

"There was one problem. It was not true," McClellan writes, according to a brief excerpt released Monday. "I had unknowingly passed along false information. And five of the highest-ranking officials in the administration were involved in my doing so: Rove, Libby, the vice president, the president's chief of staff [Andrew Card] and the president himself."

The short version of the story can be found here, but if you are interested in the long version you'll have to wait until April when McClellan's book is released.  Scott McClellan's book is titled What Happened - Inside the Bush White House and What's Wrong with Washington

Let's not let this one get away.

"There was one problem. It was not true," McClellan writes, according to a brief excerpt released Monday. "I had unknowingly passed along false information. Scott McClellan, the representative to the nation and the newsmedia for The White House and the president, george bush, said, "The President is a liar."  Yowzah!!!!!  He said the president's political advisor is a liar, the vice-president is a liar, and the vp's chief of staff and the president's chief of staff are liars as well.  Don't hold back, Scott.  Tell us, really, how do you feel about these guys.

I remember when the Valeria Plame issue was first hitting the news media.  I wasn't particularly interested and when I saw president george bush stand in front of the cameras and state that whoever outed Valeria Plame was unamerican and that he would do everything in his power to hunt the parties down and see that they were punished.  Hmmmmm.  Everything in his power should be a lot of things since he is the leader of the most powerful country in the world.  Did he do it?  No, actually he covered the whole thing up.  It seems that Karl Rove, Scott McClellan and the Deputy Security of State, Keith Armitage, all spoke to the press about Valerie Plames covert position with the CIA.  It also seems that the president knew about this and sent his hound dogs in other directions.  Thank goodness corruption did not reach into the lower end of the government.  It only seemed to stay near and at the top.  Some "work dog" was able to ferret out the truth and then prosecute Libby for lieing to the FBI.  Of course, the president commuted Libby's sentence and then announced to the world that it was all over and that everyone need to get on with the business of running a government.

Sorry, george, but Scott McClellan seems to think differently.  Ain't gong to happen.  The can of worms has been opened and, hopefully, the Democrats in power and the media that isn't owned by the bush/cheney cartel won't let it rest until everything comes out and somebody else will finally face a judge and a panel of his/her peers.

Stay tuned for more developments.
