(This was first written on Jan 5, 2006 on our Proboards site.)

A Montgomery County Circuit Court judge in Maryland ruled that "mooning, while distasteful, is not illegal." This is very scary, in my opinion, because the fact is we are seeing too much indecently exposed skin these days from all age groups in rather normal, everyday dress, and we don't need a dumb-ass exposing his butt to convey any opinion or thought process. But that's only me.

Additional note: It was quoted in the article that the mooner threatened to "blow up my building", said the victim, with no other details. Why was this mentioned? Was race an issue? Was the guy a dumb-ass, a total jerk, a weird-do, a fruitcake, a psycho, what? This statement is like half a story. The audience is now left hangin' with no conclusion offered to this statement. Aha -- Ahhh-h-h!!!

Why should anybody have to tolerate public nudity. If the mooner turned his/her hairy butt around, they would call that "flashing", which is illegal. So, I see it as the judge was 180 degrees off with his decision.

I really don't see any big problem with this.

Afterall, technically we should all be naked beings... but thank (God) we aren't!  ;D

From what I remember of the article, the mooner was a psycho and the lady who charged the guy with something like indecent exposure should have charged him with something a little more reflective of the times like terrorism for threatening to "blow up her building".

Vancouver has a "clothing optional" beach which I'll definitely be checking out this summer!
