December is my month. October is Mick's.
What gets me is all the different categories. If you don't like the stone suggested under "Modern" you can look for the stone that fits "you" under a different category. If you look, there are about 4 different stones for each month which are of different colors, translucency and opaqueness, and the value of the stones could waver by thousands of dollars. Maybe the birth stone chart really doesn't have any real meaning, but just a way for jewelers to sell their wares to various people with different believes.
Mick and I sell jewelry and get asked the question, "What do your stones do?" I would love to tell people that our stones do everything except the dishes and windows, but I don't think they would appreciate my sense of humor.
