Confusing politics

I was telling Sassafras last night that the group that is leading the voting in Iraq is the conservative right.  There seems to be a lot of concern that they may form a theocratic form of government.  The general spin is that this group is intolerant of other people that have different views than they do.

Now, as I pointed out to Sassafras, the group that is most worried about this particular group of Iraqi pundits, is the group here in the US that is presently in control.  Last I knew, this group, the George W. Bush coalition, is considered  the conservative right.  So, we have a conservative right group from the US that is intolerant of a conservative right group from Iraq.   :-/

What's wrong with this picture?
