i actually think america will be a better nation not divided ethnically or culturally as much as in has been in the past 8 yrs.. now dont get me wrong i liked bush for some of the stuff he did. but in all he did a rather poopy job. i hope obama brings us the change we need. and he is right it might not take 4 yrs it might take longer but i think he will be the catalyst that brings america strong again

I see Barack Obama more as a bridge.  When he gave his speech on race, he answered many questions in many peoples minds.  It basically said it was OK to be whomever we were born.  I just listened to him give an interview to an Arab TV station and he used that same "bridge" concept while discussing the Muslims.  He said he had family that were Muslim and had lived in Muslim countries.  I thought that him being able to say that was very strong.  He also said that Al Quaeda and himself will be judged on what they built and not on what they destroyed.  Another very powerful thought.

Yes, I think he is going to be good for this country and the world as well.

We are not there yet. Now at least, the mountain top may be seen.

It's almost one month later...

... And I can say that the "mountain top", as Smokebender put it, IS VERY visible from where I am standing and... it takes my breath away.  Obama has given us an amazing glimpse of what the next four years is going to be like for Americans and the world community, and I'd say that we're going to be awe struck with the pure joy and beauty of the that amazing mountain top for an addition four years.
