Hypocrisy
« on: March 11, 2009, 08:57:13 PM »
OK, this is about posturing and claiming one thing and doing another, or in other words, hypocrisy.  The Omnibus bill, last years budget that didn't pass last year simply because Bush stated he would veto it, passed yesterday, hours before the Federal Government would have shut down from lack of funds.  Below is a list of 28 of the 35 senators that voted against the bill.  They claimed that there were too many earmarks.  Some, such as Mitch McConnell from Kentucky called for Barack Obama to veto the bill, to show Washington that their were too many earmarks.  All of these Senators weren't vocal against the bill, but most of the Republicans on the list were. By the way, out of the 28 voters against the bill, that had earmarks, one is a Democrat and 27 are Republican.  Take a look at the list to see what hypocrisy looks like.  The earmarks that these senators put into the bill were the same earmarks that they stood on the floor of the senate acting disgusted over, spoke to the media about and sat on Sunday political shows railing about the hypocrisy of Barack Obama.  Another side note, it was McCain that, during the election, stated he would veto any bill that had earmarks.  Barack Obama said he would go through the bills, line by line, and work with Congress to eliminate frivolous earmarks and reduce the numbers overall.  There is an attempt to rewrite this position by the GOP as they are claiming that Barack Obama was really McCain during the elections, I guess, and we hadn't noticed.  I bet these guys just hate video.
