We are moving this week to Wolf Lake, just east of Muskegon, MI. We rented a house on the beach, well 45 feet above the beach, with steps going down and a dock. I hate moving, but we love moving to this house.
We have been living in a parking lot...literally, between a restaurant and a gas station. The parking lot asphalt comes right up to our back door.
Now, we look out our window and only see lake framed by trees. It is so beautiful. I don't know if I'll be able to sleep without the sound of trucks going by our house. The main depot for Wesco gas stations is next to us and they have about 2 tankers an hour come right by our house...well maybe 50 feet from our house. Rumbling and shaking is part of what we live with.
Our front porch in this house looks at Wesco headquarters. The highlight of the year is to sit on this porch and watch people come and go to their offices or on a rainy day, the water backs up on Whitehall Rd, filling up the right lane. We like to sit and watch people hit this lane too fast, putting up a wall of water. We do grade them holding up a sign, on a 1 to 10 scale.
Now our front porch looks out over Wolf Lake, where we will have to watch such things as waterfowl, water, boaters, fishermen, did I say waterfowl? Yeah, I know, I am bragging, but, hey, if you got it...flaunt it.
