St. Ignace puts on a MC Show WITHOUT Vendors
« on: April 13, 2009, 04:34:15 PM »
St. Ignace had their first motorcycle show last year during Memorial weekend.  The show was small and for us, since Mick and I live in St. Ignace, the show was ok.  There were three vendors including us.  Not anything to brag about, but a show that might be of interest for more vendors in the future if St. Ignace listened to the right people.  Mick talked to someone last year about the show and offered his help.  The visitors bureau turned him down and said they already had a person helping them.  They hired an ex-cop/motorcycle enthusiast to help them get vendors which they paid for all of his expenses including motels, food, and gas.  What a life for this guy and what suckers St. Ignace were and still are....

This year, St. Ignace is putting on a motorcycle show WITHOUT vendors.  They decided to get rid of the vendors because St. Ignace didn't get enough "attaboys" for their effort the year before.  And since nothing changes, they have decided to hire a different guy.  A professional "premier custom motorcycle show judge & event coordinator" is to judge 26 Bike Show Classes, giving 78 trophies, $300 in Total Prize Money, "PLUS, all pre-registered & prepaid entries will receive a free, long-sleeve event T-shirt".

When Mick talked to the visitors bureau, he was asked if he could get vendors to come to this year's show.  He said it was probably too late for this year being so close to the event, but stranger things have happened.  The thing that is really interesting is St. Ignace's first parking lot of choice fell through so they are looking for a new parking lot to hold the mc show.  They take my breath away!!

We'll have to see how it goes.
