Well, Mick reminded that companies add ingredients like "fructose" to beverages, for instance, and this "fructose" isn't the same fructose we find in real fruit. Companies can get away with using "fructose" for a lack of a better word or lack of a better FDA for regulating these things. Basically, each individual has to make their own conclusion until better regulations do come along.
The basic idea of the list of foods to avoid, though, is very real. I have the ongoing challenge of avoiding MSG and aspartame and other excitotoxins. I would like to help Mick eliminate aspartame (and splenda) from his diet which is going to be harder for him since he is diabetic and really doesn't have very many choices. He has told me though that he is not going to drink any more diet pop, which is really cool. I will be doing the same with regular pop since high fructose corn syrup is my skull and crossbones.
