Rush Limbaugh is the spokesman for the neo-con fascist party.  I only wish they would leave the GOP and start their own party. The hi-jacking of this party was facilitated by the failure of Nixon and was completed by the election of Ronald Reagan.  He was a puppet of the likes of Cheney and Rumsfeld and others that are the true neo-cons, better known as the old John Birch Society.  Limbaugh is a shill, the same as Reagan was, for the neo-con fascist group.  He actually does a good job of identifying all the neo-cons in society because they quote him.  When you hear somebody you are talking to quote some right wing talking point, you have just encountered a neo-con fascist in the flesh.

This article was sent to me by a friend.

http://www.alternet.org/story/125793?page=1

It is an interesting article because it not only reiterates what I said in the last post, but it also underlines the fear that right wing members of the GOP have for Limbaugh.  The article points out that he is one of the least popular political figures in the USA and, still, these neo-con fascist Congressmen and Senators kowtow to his whims and words.  I have been listening to them quote him on floor of the senate.  It was his talking point they use that suggests that the New Deal failed and that government intervention in a financial crisis doesn't work unless you reward the rich with more tax cuts.

A quote from the article,

"Despite Limbaugh's low popularity ratings, congressional Republicans are so intimidated by his perceived influence that even the most resentful members shamelessly grovel at his feet. He might have alienated vast sectors of the Republican base, but Limbaugh still commands an army of self-proclaimed "Dittoheads" who represent the party's most politically fervent, ideologically extreme, and easily shepherded element. This is a faction that flood the party's elected representatives' offices with phone calls, and which they believe they cannot afford to offend."

These "dittoheads" are almost laughable, but for the fact that they breed, vote and breath air.  They are the epitome of a zealot and zealots are some of the scariest people in the world.

It seems Rush, the new head GOP zealot is on the tube everynight of late. My God, is that the best they can do? Will he run?

Well he's still at it. Now Rush wants to kick Colin Powell out of the GOP. Powell is the GOP's greatest member. Nice work Rush.

I only wish they would leave the GOP and start their own party.

Or maybe it would be better for the true traditional GOPers to leave the party to the neo-cons and "reboot" the traditional GOP principals in a new party.  The actual present GOP may now be a lost cause.  Perhaps go back to the principles of the party of Lincoln!  Or at least Eisenhower (in my opinion the best Republican Prez of the last century).

BTW - Have you seen Jon Stewart making fun of the Cantor/Romney/Jeb Bush pizza party?  Apparently these guys are trying to "rebrand" the GOP, but all that they are talking about is the same tired old ideas in a new package (and, to tell you the truth, the package doesn't look all that different to me, either).   OOOOOOO

Well I guess they, the GOP, have the next 40 years or so to think it over.

I like John Stewart, but have yet to see the pizza party. John has much from the last 8 years to work with. He could send the writers home.

Wow, I read the article but what was more interesting to me was the poll.  It shows exactly what I have been saying since Bush stole the first election; that the GOP cannot win without cheating because they are so far out-of-touch with the reality of the average American.

Back in Feb. when I sent this article to Mick I missed the poll. If fact I just read it for the first time. Thanks for pointing it out.

It's just like you said, very telling.    ~D~

The GOP is toast.  They have always depended on the middle/independent to win anything anyway.  As long as they sounded moderate, the independents liked their tax and smaller government message.  Now that their true stripes are showing with their concern and militancy of social issues like homosexuality and abortion, their disregard for the sciences like their stand on creation and global warming and their belief that all international conflict can be dealt with by attacking an opponent, The independents and moderates are now leaning left.  By the way, to these neo-con fascists in the GOP, anybody that is left of their belief system is a liberal and they don't seem to have any problems shouting this out to everybody.

I was watching Joe Scarborough this morning on MSNBC and listened to him (he claims that he is only one of three Republicans left in America) state that America is unsafe because we cannot interrogate anybody anymore.  This is the type of "way-out-there" thinking that makes it possible for Rush to be their leader.  Oh, yeah, the GOP is toast and maybe, just maybe, this country will finally see a multiple party system emerge, and eliminate the two party system.

Wanda kicked some Rush butt at the press dinner. If you missed do a search and check it out. It's really wild.

In fact, if you go to the C-Span website the whole 16 minutes is on there as well as the 15 minute speech that Barack Obama gave, which was hilarious.

What did you think of the line she said, "He wants Barack Obama to fail?  I want both his kidneys to fail."  Can't say it any better than that.

What kind of nasty come back will we hear from Rush? Has it already happend? Did I miss it?

Wow

I always liked Jesse Ventura.  I was impressed when I met Minnesota residents that liked him.  In fact, I never met one that didn't.  He has always said it like he believes.  This time, he said it like I believe.

And the rush of hot smelly air just keeps on flowing.

Watching Fox, we have it now I don't know why, is like watching SNL.

Also fun for me to hear RR kick some Rush ass on CNN.

I don't like Rush at all but to wish for someone's kidney's to fail is disgusting.

Title: Re: Rush Limbaugh leaving the USA
Post by: Smokebender on March 23, 2010, 07:19:05 PM
. Last week, Rush Limbaugh swore he would move to Costa Rica if health reform passed. Instead, he heroically decided to stay behind and fight for freedom, by telling his listeners they're in a death match with Hitler. “America is hanging by a thread. So we have to see what we can do with a thread. At the end of the day, our freedom has been assaulted. This is the kind of change that people did not think they were going to get when they voted for Barack Obama. Freedom must win the day."

Limbaugh goes on to slam Rep. Bart Stupak, whose decision to vote yes on the bill after squeezing an anti-abortion executive order from Obama helped Dems clinch the needed votes. "Stupak is no different than Neville Chamberlain, who came back with that little letter from Hitler: 'Oh, yeah, Hitler says no war between his country and ours.'"

Limbaugh followed up his outrageously offensive (but by this point run-of-the-mill) comparison of Obama to Hitler by mourning our democracy. It no longer exists, Limbaugh concluded, identifying the cause of its demise: our democratically elected Congress and president, of course. "They won because they held Congress and the presidency, and therein lies the lesson: We need to defeat these bastards. We need to wipe them out. We need to chase them out of town."

History is sure to smile on his selfless stand.

(Rush, Are you still here?)

Dear Steven,

"We need to defeat these bastards. We need to wipe them out." Not my words. Rush Limbaugh's words.

Democrats extend health care to 32 million people, and how do Republicans react? Their eyes get all crazy-like. They throw fits. They vow repeal. And they will track down every Democratic member of Congress like bloodhounds on the chase.

Look, we didn't fight all these years for health care reform to see it dismantled by a radio blowhard, a bunch of regressive Republicans and an angry mob of right wingers. But their rhetoric will only grow more dangerous and threaten President Obama's accomplishments and future agenda. So when that FEC deadline comes Wednesday at midnight, we as Democrats need to show our post-healthcare strength.
On the Senate floor, Judd Gregg compared health care reform to not only a "huge asteroid," but a huge asteroid that will "land on our children's heads." Rep. John Boehner ranted at the top of his lungs until his face turned beet red. Glenn Beck cried. And "tyranny" and "socialism" are hot new topics on Twitter. I've gotta ask: What is WRONG with these people?

I haven't heard such claptrap from the Republicans since they said President Clinton's economic plan would be "a one-way ticket to a recession." They were wrong about Clintonomics, which balanced the budget while creating 23 million new jobs and lifting millions out of poverty. And they're just as wrong about Obamacare, which at its heart just means a family doctor for every family.

And if you think it couldn't possibly get any worse, just wait. The lies will only get more airplay now that corporations can spend unlimited money for candidates. Special interests are already spending more than $800,000 per day to kill President Obama's agenda. This number will only grow.

It might be laughable - if it weren't so dangerous. This election will determine the future of everything we've accomplished. Do we stand with President Obama and his progressive vision? Or do we let crazy conservatives destroy everything?

Here's the only acceptable answer: We fight.

Republicans want to drag this country kicking and screaming into the 19th century. It's up to you and me to make sure it doesn't happen.

Sincerely,
Paul Begala

Dear Reader,

Well Almost. April Fools. Limbaugh promised to leave the country for Costa Rica if the health care bill passed, but he has made false promises before.

Instead of leaving, he decided to stay behind to rile up his listeners by equating Obama to Hitler and pledging to wipe Democrats off the map. Nice huh? That is typical of the kind of irresponsible hate talk that Limbaugh preaches to more than 15 million people every day. The best part? Costa Rica has universal health insurance, so Limbaugh wouldn't have to worry about finding insurance that will cover his many health problems.

We have no choice but to fight back daily against Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Fox News; against the Tea Party people who are increasingly resorting to racism and threats of violence.  Every day AlterNet pushes back against this violent, right-wing rhetoric with investigative pieces, blog posts, videos, interviews, and ways to take action.
