Mrs. Dash Original Blend
« on: November 19, 2011, 08:20:08 PM »
There have been more and more people I have talked to who use Mrs. Dash even though they are allergic to MSG.  I have found that I can't use Mrs. Dash and not get a headache, so I know that it has something in it that I am allergic to even though the ingredients list doesn't mention any of the top trigger ingredients.  So I would like to help people understand what to look for when the ingredients list is not obvious.

Original Blend Ingredients: Onion, spices (black pepper, parsley, celery seed, basil, bay, marjoram, oregano, savory, thyme, cayenne pepper, coriander, cumin, mustard, rosemary), garlic, carrot, orange peel, tomato, lemon juice powder, citric acid, oil of lemon

The listing for "spices" is straight up.  No funny business there.  Citric Acid, though, has become a big problem which is heavily over-looked by MSG sensitive people.  The next ingredients I would question is "lemon juice powder" and "oil of lemon".  The more an ingredient is processed should suggest at least a yellow flag to MSG sensitive people.  Also, I wonder about the "tomato" because it doesn't say dried or anything.

I have talked to people face to face and over the phone about this spice and my reaction to it.  Now here it is on the Forum.

It is not for him to pride himself who loveth his own country, but rather for him who loveth the whole world. The earth is but one country, and mankind its citizens. ~~Baha'u'llah
