(This was first written on Feb 11, 2005 on our Proboards site.)

Allah'u'Abha, friends.

This is a greeting which means, "God is most glorious"  I kind of like it.  Most members of the Baha'i Faith use it to greet each other.  It is not a secret greeting, but one that we all love to hear.

Yes, Sassafras and I  are members of the Baha'i Faith.  You've never heard of it?  Well, there's a lot of that going around.

Go ahead, go there and then come back and ask questions.  Or don't go there and don't ask questions.  Your choice, partner.

Some of the Principles of the Baha'i Faith

 1.  Oneness of of the world of humanity
 2.  The foundation of all religion is one
 3.  Equality between men and women
 4.  Religion must be in accord with science and reason
 5.  Religion must be the cause of unity
 6.  Independent investigation of truth
 7.  The abolition of all forms of prejudice
 8.  Universal peace
 9.  Universal education
10. A universal auxiliary language
11. Spiritual solution of economic problems
12. An international tribunal

Some other teachings of Baha'u'llah

-We are created as noble and spiritual beings

-The family is the foundation of human society.

-Marriage is a means for spiritual development of both partners

-Living a moral life has a direct influence on our spiritual happiness and development

-The soul continues after death

Well that is part of who we are.   :)  Both of us are driven by the Baha'i Faith and its guidelines.  It is probably the most important of us you could ever know.  It may be the only part of us with any value.  Well, I am speaking for myself with that last statement.  Everything about Sassafras is valued.  To know her is to be rewarded.

It is not for him to pride himself who loveth his own country, but rather for him who loveth the whole world. The earth is but one country, and mankind its citizens. ~~Baha'u'llah

The chief idols in the desecrated temple of mankind are none other than the triple gods of Nationalism, Racialism and Communism, at whose altars governments and peoples, whether democratic or totalitarian, at peace or at war, of the East or of the West, Christian or Islamic, are, in various forms and in different degrees, now worshiping. ~~Shoghi Effendi, The Promised Day is Come
