Title: Vitamin C
Post by: sculptr on March 04, 2013, 09:20:44 PM
I thought folks might be interested in a discovery that I made.  When I was first searching for antidotes to the toxic reactions I read a blurb on a website (wish I had bookmarked it but it's gone, sorry) mentioning Vitamin C being helpful for treatment of allergies.  I thought it worth a try.  The writer, a doctor, suggested high doses of up to, if tolerated, 10 grams a day.  I started with three grams (3,000mgs) and ended up taking 3-7 grams when the toxicity hits.  It helped!!!    ~D~  It can help me wake up and stop some of the flu-like symptoms such as body pain and fatigue.  It only seems to work for 4-8 hours, but any help is welcome, and my doctor said that my body will simply expel the excess.  He recommended that I didn't take it every day, and I don't.  When I was at my worst I took it 3-4 times a week with no problems.

This may help others, but please do check with your doctor first!

Michele,

I have been trying to write a reply to your message since the day after you posted it - some 4 days ago.   ~D~  Well, maybe I can actually get it finished.   :)7

Vitamin C does have some benefit for MSG resistance.  And the amount of Vitamin C is very high and has to be maintained to have consistent value.  And I can see some doctor objecting to this even though excess amounts of this vitamin is expelled from the body without showing any harmful affects.

I have read and re-read Dr. Russell Blaylock's book called Excitotoxins, The Taste that Kills.  [You might what to get it.]  In it, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Magnesium were mentioned.  I'm sure there are others.  I have done my own test with magnesium and honey.  (I will post a separate topic explaining what I did and why.)  I will tell you this, though.  Magnesium is suppose to reduce brain cell death, but it is really only effective if your blood glucose is at the right level and it is maintained.  What that level is, I don't know, but I do know that the body depletes its energy the fastest when the brain is "under attack" from MSG and other excitotoxins.  There is an over abundance of scientific explanations in the book, like this one, but I found the book useful with my personal research and for the website.

I am happy that you found something that works for you!!  Personally, when I feel a migraine coming on after I have eaten the dreaded MSG-load, I take a half of the Benadryl tablet.  If it's late at night I will take the whole thing, because it makes me is little groggy.  Although, if I get the reaction in the morning, I have to ride out the symptoms, because I will definitely get sick otherwise.

:)7  I wonder how many oranges I person would have squeeze to get enough Vitamin C?   ^:|--

BTW,  WELCOME  [welcome] to the Forum or what I like to refer to it as, The City.   W==(:D)== W==(:D)== W==(:D)==
