Title: An Awakening
Post by: misfitguy on January 22, 2009, 06:52:07 AM

I wrote this poem in 1997 for Sassafras when we were first noticing each other.

AN AWAKENING

Special  person, special soul.
Sooth my wounds,..
Heal me with your haunting smile.
Nurture my awakening heartbeat;
Hear it?  Do you hear it?
Oh magical being, It is surely magic.
You have renewed the breath in one
   who had ceased breathing.
It is life.  It is love.

Precious person, precious soul.
Take me to the heights I’ve longed for.
To be dizzy, oh so dizzy!
Soaring through the mists of time,
   my life being caressed by your warming touch.
So few.  Yet so many.

Adored one.  Or are you the adorer?
Tell me!  Do you know?  Can you feel it?
Are you as captured in irresolute thought as I?
Mindless wanderings of adventures to be;
With you?  With me?
Can you lead me?  Will you follow, or will the mysteries of our life unfold
   as we traverse the unknown together;
Arms locked, hearts molded, our minds touching
So gently, Oh so gently.

Oh dear one.  My, oh so dear one.
My soul has spoken.
“Reach out,”  it says.  “ Reach out!”  it screams.
“Let me caress this kindred spirit,” it pleads.
To not pay heed
   would be to deny the existence of the ethereal.
Caress, touch, be one.  Please, be one.

And in a breath our souls knew;
And in a heartbeat our souls showed us how.
You smiled…I smiled.
You looked into my eyes; I into yours.
We were one that moment.
We are one forever.

Awwww! I'm jealous. She's lucky to have found someone who isn't afraid to express his feelings outwardly. The only thing I ever got from the men of my past is; "WOW! Check out the set of knockers on that one!"

That can be kind of romantic, I would think.

Thank you, though.
